Chilean freelance photographer Francisco Negroni photographs natural phenomena at their peak. But he pays special attention to volcanic eruptions and thunderstorms. In his works you can see colorful and vibrant lava rivers flowing from splits on the earth. Huge pillars of smoke and ash cover the horizon and it seems that nothing will save around at this moment. He was able to capture powerful lightning strikes, which, like electric threads, sew the sky with the horizon.

Francisco first studied photography in advertising and tourism, but as soon as he first saw the eruption of a volcano, he realized that this would become his life's work.
Renowned artist Colossal discussed Negroni's strategies for photographing in order to discard the excess and capture only the right points:
“When I go outside in search of a good shot, I try to keep the right image in my head already at that time. Mentally, I imagine what I need and what I want to achieve at this moment ... Although often it turns out quite the opposite. I get completely different photos that I did not even imagine. Oddly enough, they turn out much better and more unexpected than you might imagine. But almost always I work with a specific task for myself, but I try to get images that will make the viewer go beyond the limits of the photo in my thoughts. ”
When photographing, Francisco uses a long shutter speed to capture every moment of a volcanic eruption. Each of his works consists of only one frame, there is no multiple processing and photoshop. Any person who is at least somehow familiar with this art will appreciate his work. Without expecting it, his photographs gained great popularity and recognition.
Due to the high costs and difficulties that often occur when traveling along the Chilean savannahs, Negroni always carefully considers the possible risks and tries to track future volcanic eruptions in order to get the maximum possible from each trip. He never takes a lot of things on the road, only a bag with accessories and a laptop, a camera, a pair of lenses and a tripod. Often he had to spend the night in a car or in the fresh air, if the trip was delayed. Now Negroni is shooting for various editions, he also published his works in such publications as: National Geographic, GlobalPost, Terra and Associated Press. On his personal site you can see more of his photos. Not only eruptions, but natural phenomena and spectacular landscapes. For enthusiasts, Negroni conducts personal tours and seminars.
